American Freight, founded in Lima, Ohio in 1994, sells furniture, mattresses and appliances sourced as manufacturer overstock, customer returns and other surplus inventory at discount prices through a warehouse-style, in-stock model. The chain went through a 2024 bankruptcy and liquidation before relaunching in 2025 under a new licensing arrangement. Because inventory turns over irregularly by nature of its closeout sourcing, specific brand carriage is not consistent from store to store.
